Crockpot Turkey and Dumplings

This warm, cozy Crockpot Turkey and Dumplings recipe is the ultimate comfort food for busy nights. Ingredients

Soup Base:

  • 2 –3 cups cooked turkey, shredded or chopped
  • 1 small onion , diced
  • 2 –3 carrots , sliced
  • 2 celery stalks chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Black Pepper to taste
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 4 cups chicken broth

Dumplings (pick your adventure):

Option 1:

Option 2:

  • Lazy Biscuit Dumplings
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough , cut into pieces

Instructions

Step 1:

  • Dump the Base
  • Add turkey, onion, carrots, celery, garlic, seasoning, soup, and broth into your crockpot. Stir it up.

Step 2:

  • Slow Cook
  • Cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours.

Step 3:

  • Dumpling Time
  • About 45 mins before serving, add your dumplings:
  • For biscuit dough:
  • plop in the chunks on top.
  • For homemade:
  • mix dry ingredients, cut in butter, stir in milk, and drop spoonfuls into soup.
  • Do not lift the lid! Let dumplings cook for 30–40 minutes.

Step 4:

  • Serve & Devour
  • Scoop into bowls, top with parsley if you're feelin' fancy, and enjoy the silence as the kids actually eat.

Notes

  • Sub in rotisserie chicken if turkey is MIA.
  • Add peas or corn if you’re feeling veggie-ish.
  • Leftovers? Even better the next day.
