Kadalai Urundai, Verkadalai urundai, Peanut Chikki Balls
Kadalai urundai or the verkadalai urundai is not only a tasty dessert but also a very healthy one. Sold in almost all the shops in India this is one tasty recipe.
- 1 cup peanuts
- 1 cup jaggery
Roast the peanuts in a kadai till golden brown. When it is lukewarm remove the skin of the peanuts by scrubbing between your palms. Split the peanuts into two.
Take the jaggery in a pan and add 2 tablespoon of water. Heat till the jaggery melts.
Remove from heat and strain to remove any impurities.
Again cook till you form a ball when dropped in water or one string consistency. You can check my video for better understanding.
Add the peanuts an cook for 1 or 2 more minutes.
Transfer this mixture to a greased plate.
Allow it to cool down a little and make small balls by greasing your palms while the mixture is still warm.
Serve after it cools down completely.
