Remember to keep a glass of water nearby before eating Spicy Potato fries (spicy aloo) dish if you aren’t accustomed to spicy food. You can even reduce the quantity of chillies according to your endurance.Potatoes were my favorite veggie during childhood. I could eat it fried, in a gravy, boiled, mashed. You name it, I could eat it. Potato served with Rice and Rasam were a killer combination for me.

In this potato fry recipe, the freshly ground powder of garlic and chili add a unique flavor to the dish. This potato fry or aloo fry dish can be had as a side dish with roti or rice and dal.

  • Steam the cut potatoes in a steamer or boil till half done. Steaming the potato will allow us to  use less oil while frying (I always steam my vegetables  in the rice cooker along with rice. Multitasking, you see. The rice gets cooked and so does my veggies)

  • While the potatoes are steaming, grind together garlic, chilies and salt to a course powder.

  • Heat oil and fry the potatoes till golden brown.
