When you think of Kalakand, you will think about how long it is to make it. It takes painful hours of stirring and stirring and some more stirring. The process gets so tedious that you will shelf the idea of making it at home and rather buy from the store.

Well, not anymore. You can get delicious and tasty kalakand ready in 10 minutes and that too at home. And did I mention it requires only 3 ingredients!!!

All you need is a tin of condensed milk, some agent to curdle the milk like yogurt, vinegar or lemon and some butter. Mix everything and microwave it done.

You can make this microwave kalakand recipe right after guests arrive at your home. The consistency of the microwave kalakand recipe will entirely depend upon your preference. If you like to have a consistency like a palkova halwa then you can micorwave it for less time. But if you want the microwave kalakand recipe to be like a burfi pieces, then microwave till it hardens.

Like I always say with the oven, every microwave is also different. The settings that I would use in my microwave will vary in yours. So use your best judgement and the texture that you would prefer for your microwave kalakand recipe.

It is best to start with the first 2 + 2 minutes and then work for 1 minute after that. Remove, stir after every 1 minute to check the consistency that you like. But the maximum time would’t cross 8 to 9 minutes, it will start burning after that.

So next time you have sudden guests over at your home and you have nothing except a can of condensed milk, you know what you can make to surprise your guests.

So let’s get started with the Microwave Kalakand Recipe, 10 Minutes Palkova

What You Need:

  • 1 tin condensed milk, (400 gms)
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

How To Make:

  • Take a wide microwave safe bowl. Add the condensed milk, butter and lemon juice to it.
  • Stir and microwave for 2 minutes on high.
  • Remove from the microwave and mix. At this time, the milk will just start to curdle.
  • Again microwave for 2 more minutes. Remove and stir again.
  • Now microwave for 1 minute. Remove, stir, microwave. Do this process until kalakand achieves your desired consistency. Mine was just perfect at 6 minutes.
  • Transfer this to a greased plate. Cut into pieces and enjoy.

Recipe Notes

Every microwave is different. After the 4 minute mark, microwave for 1 minute and stop when you reach the desired consistency.
