Mango Mastani recipe is a famous mango delicacy that is serve with a dollop of ice cream. This is a very simple preparation and gets ready in no time at all.
You can choose any mango of your choice. The best mango that is in season. So there is no hard and fast rule regarding which mango is perfect for this recipe.
I heard this mango mastani recipe from a friend who happens to belong to Pune. I had never heard of it before and was totally fascinated by the name.
I was informed that there is no one particular way to make this dessert and the toppings vary very extensively.
Even the ice cream added can be switched between mango or vanilla. I have chosen to use the vanilla for the sheer fact that it added a nice color to the beautiful yellow mango puree. You can use mango ice cream in place of the vanilla ice cream.
You can even switch between the toppings and add in some tutti fruti, fresh fruits, raisins or other toppings that you fancy.
What You Need:
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup mango
- 1 tsp sugar, (adjust depending upon the sweetness of mango)
- scoop of vanilla or mango ice cream
- 2 tbsp crushed nuts
- mango bits for garnish
How To Make:
- Blend milk, mango and sugar into puree.
- Pour this puree into a serving glass.
- Add ice cream.
- Place nuts on top followed by the mango pieces.
- Finally add some more nuts on top and serve immediately
