السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته
Dates Cake recipe, how to make simple dates cake. Jammed with dates, this cake will be a delight to bake. This recipes calls for boiling the dates before mixing in. And small chunks of cut dates gives that crunchy flavor that will leave you asking for more.
This is a must try recipe which will never fail you and will amaze your family and friends. With soft moist texture, and dense dates flavor, the warm cake will get wiped off in a jiffy. You can even add in nuts of your choice for extra crunchiness. If you are an avid fan of more dried fruits, you can even add some more dried fruits like apricot or figs. And, oh yeah! You can even add some chocolate chips too. But I have kept that cake for later and now was in a mood to make pure dates cake recipe.
I had made it today evening, and I am sitting here drafting the dates cake recipe, with tummy full of it. It was wiped off the plate right after shooting. It wasn’t even allowed to cool down properly and was relished pretty warm with a glass of milk. Serve it whenever you like. Serve at breakfast or pack some for kids’ tiffin box or simply serve it up at tea time. The nutrient loaded dates will not only make your family relish this dates cake recipe but will get a lot of health benefits too.
I have a basic cake base recipe and to that I love experimenting with different flavors and ingredients to it and love when it turns out well. This recipe was made with the basic vanilla cake recipe and I just added the dates paste to it.

Hello Fareeha!
I hope you are still monitoring this blog. I have a question. But first, your date cake recipe looks delicious and just what I was looking for!! I want to make some date cake muffins for suhoor and date mini loaf cakes, perhaps for Iftar, for my next door neighbor family who are muslim for Ramadan, which just started May 17, 2018.
Can these be baked in muffin pans and mini loaf pans with a shorter cook time?
So you think adding some dried cranberries and crushed walnuts to muffins and a halal chocolate ganache icing to the loaf cakes would be appropriate? Finally, On my little more card to them, should I add in the fact that this was made with ALL halal ingredients?
(Ex: butter is from Trader Joe’s and is pasteurized sweet cream only-no additives. Vanilla has no alcohol) It was fascinating reading about halal friendly ingredients!
Thank you again Fareeha!
Cynthia

I am sorry for the delay in replying as sometimes life gets the better of us. Trust me it’s your comment on my email which made me get back onto the blog. So thank you so much for it. <3
That's really sweet of you to be so considerate for your neighbor and I wish I lived next door to you 😉
Yes, you can always make them into muffins or loaf cakes. Adding walnuts and dried cranberries would add awesome flavor to it, but I am not so confident with the chocolate ganache. It has a very datey(!) taste and chocolate would really not sit right with it.
And of course, I bet your neighbors would be delighted to see the All-halal card along with it! That's really generous of you.
I hope your neighbors enjoy the cake with all the love that has been put in it from you.

I have made this recipe as a cake and cupcakes many times..it has never failed. It is easy with simple ingredients and I have cut the sugar in half and the last time I made I only used 1/4c. The dates I use are extremely sweet so be sure to know your dates before subtracting sugar. To compensate for the sugar, I add yogurt, kefir, any cream, any milk or more water. This recipe is the best out of many that I have tried in the past and have added nuts to it as well at times.

My first attempt at date cake. Turned out very well, light & fluffy. I made it as an ‘ all in one’ just adding chopped dates and vanilla essence with spatula. Husband loves it, I don’t think it will last long. Thank you for the recipe.

I made this recipe yesterday and the result is Devine. However, I did cut the amount of sugar simply because I am trying to use less sugar on all of my dessert 1/2 cup instead of a cup I also added pecans for additional crunch. The taste is still really good my hubby loves it apparently it is better than my carrot cake 🙂 with less sugar though changes the texture of the cake for sure for sure. I will 100% recommend this recipe.

After boiling the dates, do you strain water before blending dates?
