Chicken Kathi roll or chicken frankie is another famous street food item from India that is just loved by everyone. You would find the Chicken Kathi roll – chicken frankie – chicken wrap joints almost in all parts of the world. There are plenty of different chicken kathi roll recipes or chicken frankie recipe available in the restaurants, similar but with small variations but still finger-liking good!

Chicken kathi roll  can be stuffed or rolled with a lot of different meats or vegetables – mutton, beef, chicken, potatoes, mushrooms, paneer or simply just eggs and cheese. You can use any leftover chicken or other dinner from the previous night and make a yummy  Chicken Kathi Roll aka Frankie! Your tasty and healthy breakfast is ready. A great Ramadan iftar recipes too which I like to make during Ramadan time.
You can totally omit the egg if you don’t like and just wrap with the chicken mixture. I personally don’t like to have my chicken kathi roll-chicken frankie with egg but I add it while making for my family. So, it’s totally your personal preference. (www/sballergy.com)

Ingredients for making chicken kathi roll recipe

  • 2 roti
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp chopped coriander
  • 3 tsp oil
  • 1 cup chicken tikka or chicken 65
  • 2 tbsp chopped onions
  • 2 tsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 Tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
  • A pinch of turmeric powder
  • Salt and chilli powder to taste
  • 1 tsp chopped green chilies
  • Oil to fry

Method for making chicken kathi roll recipe

  • Mix the eggs with the coriander.
  • Heat oil in a non stick pan. Heat the roti and smear with one egg on top and cook till the egg is slightly cooked. Flip over and cook till done. Keep aside.
  • Put the prepared chicken tikka into strips.
  • In a pan heat the oil and add chopped onions, ginger garlic paste, chopped tomatoes, turmeric, red chili powder and green chilies.
  • Now, add the chicken strips, sliced onions and pepper juliennes.
  • Cook and add chopped coriander.
  • Divide the tikka mixture between the 2 rotis and roll them.
  • Serve with mint chutney and salad.
