By Fareeha Leave a Comment September 27, 2019

Chevron stitch is a useful stitch for making decorative borders. It works along like the zig-zag pattern. This is a surface embroidery stitch which means that you will work this stitch on the surface of the fabric like the herringbone stitch.

This can both be worked on straight lines or carefully worked curved lines.

Tips for working the chevron stitch

  • I have marked with lines and dots for your easier understanding. As you work on this stitch, there won’t be a necessity of it as it is difficult to hide the markings.
  • You can also mark with a vanishing pen.
  • Do not pull the thread tightly.

What is this stitch used for?

  • This stitch can be used in a lot of designs.
  • For filling flowers, leaves, borders almost anything can be made with this stitch.
