So, whenever you think of making the pizza, you hold back thinking of the herculean task of making the pizza dough or the ready made pizza base is not available in your pantry. So what do you do when you are craving for a pizza very badly!! Simple, you must be having some bread slices with you, top it with veggies of your choice, load it with cheese and pop it in the oven. AND!!! Your delicious and tasty bread pizza recipe is ready to gobble away. Can you imagine that!! Don’t believe me? Take a look at step by step image and decide for yourself. Meanwhile, I’ll be over here with the rest of these bread pizza, licking my plate clean. My reputation of the quick – fix cook, intact!! You will know what I mean by “quick fix” if you have seen my cheese bread roll before.
You can toast the bread slices for 3 – 4 minutes before adding the toppings for more crispier base. But you can even make it without toasting like me and go ahead with the toppings. When the kids are bored of eating the same bread sandwich, this will lighten them up after a hectic day at school. You can even make it more nutritious by making it with whole wheat bread or the multi grain bread.
For making this bread pizza recipe, you will have to roll out the bread slices with a rolling pin lightly and apply the pizza sauce and top with with veggies and pizza. You can even make it with any leftover chicken for a quick chicken pizza recipe. Let your imagination run wild and add the toppings of your choice. There are also dozens of ways to dress them up if you are willing to add a few more ingredients. Corn, capsicum, olives, mushroom, sausage, kofta bits, you can just about add anything and relish this quick fix bread pizza recipe.
While these bread pizza recipe is incredibly simple, there is one place where I think things can get tricky. It is the setting of your oven. It may differ from mine and the cooking time and temperature of the oven might differ in the place you live according to the climate you live. Oh, did I just scare you with that? That wasn’t my intention. You must be knowing your oven by now to adjust the settings accordingly. For my oven, baking at 200 C for 15 to 20 minutes makes the perfect bread pizza recipe.
Let’s get started with the Bread Pizza Recipe, Veg Bread Pizza
What You Need:
- 4 sandwich bread slices
- 4 tbsp pizza sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 to mato finely chopped
- 2 green chili, finely chopped
- 4 tsp olive oil
How To Make:
- Pre heat oven to 200 C.
- Roll the bread slices lightly using a rolling pin.
- This step is optional. Keep the bread slices in the oven for couple of minutes. If not, omit this step, and proceed to the next.
- Spread 1 tbsp pizza sauce on a bread slice. Top with little onion, tomato, green chili.
- Evenly spread the mozzarella cheese and drizzle 1 tsp olive oil. Repeat for all the bread slices.
- Bake for 20 - 25 mins till the cheese has melt and the bottom has browned.
- Serve hot with ketchup.
